Scaffold Erector

Duration: 2 days for 15 learners or less, 08h00 to 16h30 (1 hour lunch)
Summary: A modular Course for those who are tasked with the erection, and dismantling of steel access scaffold. SANS 10085-1:2004. The focus of this course is on the erection, alteration and dismantling of access scaffold.
Accreditation: Aligned to unit standard 261664 Erect, use and dismantle access equipment for construction work all at NQF level 03. SAIOSH accredited for two CPD points.

Equipment required: The employer should ensure that a basic scaffold set is available for use during the practical. If no scaffold is available on site, arrangements must be made with Amokoro Training so that the correct scaffold can be sourced at an additional fee, a list of scaffold equipment is available on request. The following minimum PPE must be worn / used during any practical: Hard hat, safety boots or shoes, overalls, gloves, safety harness. Note that the practical component of the course requires working in elevated positions and that all course participants must have been medically certified for working at heights. Evidence of this must be provided to the facilitator or our office.
Entry requirements: ABET level 4 (Basic reading, writing and arithmetic). Medium of instruction and training materials are in English. Medical certificate to work in elevated positions/at heights.

Who Should Attend: Construction, maintenance or other related employees who are required to erect, use or dismantle scaffold, trestles and ladders.
