Life skills: Personal Finance

Duration: 1 day workshop or 2 day course (08h00 to 16h30) 1 hour lunch
Summary: Life skills programmes are designed to give learners who are found competent the skills to understand and manage aspects of life they may encounter in their daily lives. Personal finance gives the learner insight into managing their own finances.
Accreditation: CETA accredited against unit standard 243189 Manage personal finances NQF level 01.
Content: Modules:

  1. Plan and manage personal finances

1.1  Explain the importance of managing personal finances.

1.2  Set personal financial goals.

1.3  Identify ways to achieve personal financial goals.

1.4  Develop a personal and/or family budget

Entry requirements: ABET level 4 (Basic reading, writing and arithmetic).Mathematical literacy and communication at NQF level 1.

Medium of instruction and training materials are in English.

Minimum course duration 1 day.
