HIV AIDS and HIV AIDS Awareness

Duration: 1 day workshop or a 2 day full course 08h00 to 16h00 (1 Hour lunch break)
Summary: A modular course for employees who have a need to understand HIV AIDS and the implications to themselves and others within the work as well as family and social context.
Accreditation: The training is aligned to unit standard 13915 Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of HIV/AIDS in a workplace, and its effects on a business sub-sector, own organisation and a specific workplace NQF level 03.
Content: Modules:

  1. Demonstrate an understanding of sexuality.
  2. Demonstrate an understanding of sexually transmitted infections including HIV/AIDS.
  3. Describe means to cope and deal with sexually transmitted infections including HIV/AIDS.
  4. Describe human rights of individuals living with HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted infections.
Entry requirements: ABET level 4 (Basic reading). Medium of instruction and training materials are in English.
Min/max number of learners Minimum: 10 learners per course

Maximum: 25 learners per course

Who Should Attend: This course is for any learner who needs to demonstrate an understanding of sexuality and sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV/AIDS, and the impact of these infections on oneself, as well as in the workplace and society. It is also aimed at encouraging a healthy lifestyle.
