Fall Protection/Working at Heights

Duration: 1 day 08h00 to 16h30 (1 Hour lunch break)
Summary: This Working at Height Training Course is essential for all those who are responsible for work in elevated positions and for the health and safety of others. This training will benefit employers, managers, supervisors and employees who have a responsibility for or are involved in work at height.
Accreditation: Aligned to unit standard 229998 Explain and perform fall arrest techniques when working at height NQF level 01. SAIOSH accredited for one CPD point.
Content: Modules:
1. Fall arrest equipment and regulations
2. Inspect, assemble and store fall arrest equipment
3. Select suitable anchor points
4. Use fall arrest systems with double lanyards
5. Response for emergency, planning and reaction (theory)
Entry requirements: ABET level 4 (Basic reading, writing and arithmetic). Medium of instruction and training materials are in English. Learners must have been declared medically fit to work at height by an occupational health practitioner.
Learners should bring their own double lanyard harness or equivalent as used in the workplace.
Min/max number of learners Minimum: 8 learners per course
Maximum: 20 learners per course
Who Should Attend: All employees who are tasked with working in elevated positions or who supervise work in elevated positions.
