Basic Rigging and Slinging

Duration: 2 days (8 am to 4:30 pm) ( 1 hour lunch break)
Summary: A modular course for those who are tasked with rigging and slinging of working loads. Learners attending this course will be able to conduct basic rigging practices in accordance with safety standards and job requirements.
Accreditation: This course is not accredited but is aligned to unit standard 14706 Perform basic rigging procedures NQF level 02.
Content: Modules:

  1. Identify and select lifting equipment
  2. Convey loads by means of lifting equipment
  3. Care and store of lifting equipment
Entry requirements: ABET level 4 (Basic reading, writing and arithmetic). Medium of instruction and training materials are in English.
Min/max number of learners Minimum: 8 learners per course

Maximum: 20 learners per course

Who Should Attend: All employees who are tasked with rigging functions or supervising rigging functions.
